PROFILE
YOUR TRAVEL BUDDY
Shinya Tanaka (English-Japanese)
I was born and raised in Tokyo until I move to Canada on a Working Holiday Program in 1987. At first, my initial purpose for going Canada was to experience the Calgary Winter Olympic Games. But before I knew it, I was fascinated by the Canadian Rockies and started working as Tour Guide. Along the way, I started my own Tour Guide and Transportation company and I held the tour business for 10 years. In 2004, I took the plunge and started a Japanese Restaurant. This was also the time when the Sushi Trend started in Canada, so the restaurant business was getting busier year by year. The most gratifying thing about running this business was hearing the many happy voices of our customers. However, due to family circumstances, I decided to return to Tokyo, and it has been three years since I return Tokyo. I thought hard about what I wanted to do, and I decided that I most enjoy working with people and showing them the best parts of Tokyo, where I feel most at home. You can leave it all to me, and I will make your time in Tokyo truly extraordinary.
